“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
~Jesus of Nazareth Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
We want to extend a cordial welcome to be with us as we assemble for the worship of God. According to the words of Jesus Christ in John 4:24, there are two inseparable and unavoidable criteria for worship. “God is a spirit, and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.” Our desire therefore is to be a blessing to you in ministering the word of God for your spiritual need.
The word of God is our sole guide for truth. We believe you will find our church to truly be a place where the Scriptures are the sole authority for faith and practice, and our primary objective is to preach and teach the word of God. I Timothy 3:15, “But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”
With this goal of Christ for his church in mind it is our prayer that we might be used to lead the lost to faith in Christ and strengthen the faith of the saints of God.
Victory Baptist Church began in Fort Collins, Colorado in October of 1984, as a mission work out of Victory Baptist Church in Wichita Falls, Texas. Dr. C. Ken Johnson came to Fort Collins with his wife, Norma, and their daughter, Vicki, believing God had called him here to preach the gospel and start a sound Baptist church. He began meeting in a rented building, and in 1985 the first members, Justin and Marilyn Fulton, who had just moved to Fort Collins from Darby, Montana, were added.
From that time, little by little, people were added to the church, which continued to meet in Fort Collins. In 2002 the church purchased a building in Loveland, Colorado and has continued to be located in Loveland to this day.
In March, 1987, Justin Fulton surrendered to ordination in a mission conference at Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lubbock, TX and in May, 1987, he was ordained by our sponsoring church. He then became associate pastor serving with missionary pastor, Ken Johnson, until 1997, when he became the pastor. During these years it became necessary to move our memberships to Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lubbock, TX, and it was this church that authorized our organization in 1997. The mission work organized as an independent assembly with 12 charter members on October 5, 1997, shortly after our missionary pastor, Ken Johnson, announced his resignation.
Victory Baptist Church voted to call Justin Fulton to be pastor of the church as of our date of organization and it was in this meeting that the church also voted to adopt its present constitution, by-laws and Confession of Faith.
This past October 2016 was the 32nd year since Victory Baptist Church was first started.
